I love having a blog because it holds the therapeutic value of keeping a diary but instead it’s like shouting into the void TODAY I WAS SAD AND BOUGHT LIPSTICK and sometimes someone else in the vast blackness will hear you and shout back I AM SORRY YOU ARE SAD and sometimes they will gently repeat it and whisper me too and sometimes they will simply hear you and nod and it is very comforting
watching a convo w/ fiona and i just hate how the game tames her. she used to be a grand enchanter AND the leader of the rebellion. and even tho she was so fierce, resourceful and confident in the book when she advocated separation from chantry and pushed for the independence vote, all of that is completely gone in inquisition. they force her into a ridiculous situation where she, an elf, makes a deal w/ a fucking tevinter magister, then write an even more ridiculous scene where the fereldan monarch BANISHES ALL MAGES from their country (how’s that a viable and sensible political decision AT ALL?), and then she spends the rest of the game just standing there in the hallway doing nothing. not participating in the inquisition meetings, not offering advice on mage and/or elf issues, not engaging w/ the ppl she used to lead in any way that we can see. it’s like she’s being punished for having ~played w/ power and freedom (theres an actual line in the game how mages who spent all their lives stuck in the circle went ‘mad w/power’), but now she’s understood the error of her ways and accepts whatever fate the inquisition will decide for her and the other mages. like they even make her tell the inquisitor she’s surprised they’re being treated as equals considering how the events went down, implying she would’ve understood and complied w/ the inquisition treating them as less than that. way to completely disempower and humiliate such a powerful character :|
